Speaker 1:

Butler. Baby, gerard and Maceville are the butlers. I am the major domo. Oh, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome, or welcome back to SoFloor, the official gathering place for newbies and novices and OG diehard fans of the Golden Age of Primetime. I'm your host, jed, viewing and reviewing the Sophia Studzias primetime storylines of the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. Buckle up, ladies and gentlemen. We have finally made. We are in the final countdown of the finale. All three iconic shows will present their very best and will decide who we like the most. So, whether you're new to this or true to this, sit back and enjoy. Tell the kids it's time to play outside or out of sight. Tell Bay. No questions, suggestions or concerns for the next 25 to 35 minutes. Everyone else in the air shot. Be cool, be quiet, or you will be kicked out because we can't mess around. This is the finale. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, this is SoFloor. Welcome back, party people.

Speaker 1:

We are at the tail end of everything. Season three is coming to an end. I'm trying to do the math in my head. Each show had roughly 27. We're looking at about 80-ish over 75 episodes of quality, vintage primetime television. My opinion that makes you at least an elder newbie or a semi-novice, if you have only joined us for season three, I highly recommend that, even if you don't listen to the show which I hope you would go back and listen to season two, where we compare apples to apples or just oranges from the beginning, or watch these in real time Again. I'm watching all of these on Amazon. I know for a fact. You can watch them on almost set on SoFloor. You can watch them on Apple TV. They're on a few other places. Well worth the time.

Speaker 1:

Today we're going to work on Dynasty. We're going to focus on Dynasty because they had the least amount of episodes. They were finished first. I feel like it's only right to give them the stage first. In preparation for this show, I did start thinking back over the last two seasons, trying to remember what their finales brought. Memory serves me correctly, the finale for season one was circling around. I think they were already in trial. That's right, they were in trial. This was the death of Ted Denard. They were trying to determine if it was a murder or if it was an accidental death, which I mean somewhere in between. And Alexis enters at the end. Also, we don't actually know. It's her, but she comes in and then she's introduced at the season opener for season two.

Speaker 1:

At the end of season two, blake had pissed off Tuscany out of nowhere. Tuscany had gone up to the mountains, remember, he was in love with Crystal and then he was in love with Fallon, and then he was in love with Crystal. I think he ended up wanting Crystal after all. And then he just said, to help with all of it, decided to go to Fisticuffs with Blake, left him, splatter-tat-tat it all over the side of a cliff and I believe that's where that ended. So it looks like Dynasty enjoys a good old cliffhanger and they also love kind of a bombshell or a two-parter. Technically it's a two-parter, at the beginning it's not a two-parter, but Dynasty loves to pick up where they left off, at least so far In three well, two seasons that's what they've done. So I'm curious to see how this season ends. I'm going to bet a little money that it's on a cliffhanger and then hopefully there's some sort of bombshell at the beginning of season four. All right guys, dynasty, dynasty. Let's see what we're working with today. I think I'm going to go ahead and stick to what I've been doing. I've been watching it all the way through and then I'll watch it again and give my commentary during that proper review. That's why it's still fresh on my mind.

Speaker 1:

This one is called the Cabin. When Blake learns that Stephen's attorney Chris has moved in with his son, he vows to fight for custody of little Danny. Morgan Hess, alexis, his private dot dot dot. That's okay. Not surprised that he would fight for custody of little Danny because he's just he's on the line. But the Morgan Hess guy, remember, he's a guy who's been. He collected information on Mark, he collected information on Crystal, like that's basically her little henchman. You never see him very much. He's popped in a few times but the last time he was on camera he was very nervous. He didn't want to go back downstairs, he wanted to use the back entrance because there's some guy downstairs. He's not a, I mean, he's a key player without being on the spotlight. If that makes any sense, I'm excited. Let's go ahead and jump in.

Speaker 1:

The Carrington's have been background players this whole season. As far as I'm concerned, I don't anticipate a lot of energy from them on this one. If not for Kirby, if not for Jeff, and if not for the introduction of Adam, this Stephen might, this Stephen. This season might have been a wash for me, even considering, you know, Fallon has a whole hotel that is. It's just a place.

Speaker 1:

She's not that interesting. She had a baby, her and Jeff divorce. None of that is as interesting as what's going on with the people who aren't the Carrington's. Even with Stephen coming back from the dead, blown to bits and pieces over the South Sea, he's got a brand new face. He comes back and he's still not interesting.

Speaker 1:

Leigh's not to me. Leigh's he looks like a kindle. It is what it is. It's enough of my rambling. I'll join you here in a second.

Speaker 1:

After I've watched the show, I'm trying to decide between the names. Should this episode be called Alexis' Burn Baby, burn Book, or is it? Everybody Hates Alexis? Either title is more than fitting because she's pissing on people left and right. She's the only consistent part of the show. I can say this honestly. The first 20 minutes is it's not. It's slow. Little bit of this, a little bit of that Couple of clean up on aisle three, where, you know, dynasty is known for telling you all about what's going on rather than showing you, and this episode is no exception. So it opens with Jeff, and Jeff is in his robe.

Speaker 1:

It's clearly late at night Fallon is coming in from La Merage. He's drinking his wine and eating cheese, late night snack. They have a conversation which basically catches the audience up on what happened while we were gone. Kirby's having terrible, terrible morning sickness. Jeff hopes that she'll quote unquote snap out of it when they move into her for her new house. Sir, you don't snap out. That's so annoying. It's not like she's in a trance, she's not in a bad mood, she has morning sickness. He just can't figure out for the life of him why Fallon didn't have it and Kirby does. Well, genetically they're not related. So that's why. That's why Kirby and another woman aren't identical in all that they do Doesn't matter anyway.

Speaker 1:

Crystal has moved out. According to Fallon, she's living in La Merage. No surprise there. Why would she want to continue to live with this man who's a complete and total moron, who's horrible to his children and just so pigheaded she can't get even getting and so annoying? The only thing on Fallon's mind. And once she hears that Kirby's not feeling well and that they're going to move out, she totally understands. What woman wouldn't want to move out into her own home with her own family? But she wants to make sure Fallon, that is, that the Colby children are as closest can be. Jeff promises her that their children will always be tight knit. We're a family, regardless of where we lived.

Speaker 1:

So the next morning Steve O comes over to collect some mail that Claudia Blaisdell sent to the house. Fallon tries to tell me you know, please go talk to daddy. He's like absolutely not. By the way, when you called last night my friend answered the phone. I need you to know that he moved in. She's like don't even worry about it, it's your life. You live it how you want to. So nobody knows right away. It's not very clear. I'm going to go ahead and spoil that by the end of the episode. It's not clear. It seems like Dan or Ted or whatever his name is I keep forgetting it just lives there. Lawyer friend seems to just live there.

Speaker 1:

Stephen is booked and busy. This entire episode we only see him coming and going. Nothing fantastic falls, nothing super fantastic happens there he does. So Stephen leaves the house and he goes to visit his mom, alexis. Only she's not in the office at a minute. So Steve comes in and he's like bro, could you just tell mom that I'm going to go visit Claudia. I'm going to be out of the way all day. Adam says listen, bro, why do you keep inviting people into your life that are trouble? Now he's talking about Claudia. Stephen tells him to mind his business. You know that's his BFF. They're very close, they have a little bit of a pass, so he's not going to take any foul mouth and her it's not going to take any of that lip from Adam. But Adam's like dude, you keep putting yourself in a position to piss people off. Just stop, as your brother I'm telling you you need to chill, don't go seer.

Speaker 1:

Stephen's not having and by this point Alexis has returned from an earlier meeting she had with Blake where she wants she's basically saying I want to merge the companies. He doesn't want to. So of course she sticks it to him where it hurts. She tells him listen, I know you're in here solving over your wife that you lost. I know that she's sleeping at the hotel, but that's your fault because you don't really love her. Like, of course it's defensive. Like what do you mean? I don't love her? Of course I love her. She's like I know you don't love her because I know you better than you know yourself. If you really loved her, you would have never embarrassed her in front of me. That was your fatal flaw homeboying. You know what? She's right. He's like dang, you just sit there and kind of take it. But anyway she's back from that meeting.

Speaker 1:

She's ruined one person's day and she overhears the last little bit of Stephen telling Adam to mind his own business and just tell Alexis that he's not going to be there that day. So she snaps at both the kids. Stephen doesn't matter, because he doesn't mind, because he's leaving. He just walks out and Adam is left there and he's just like mom, this kid will not give me an inch. I'm trying to help him, but she thinks that Adam has said something derogatory to Stephen about his sexuality, which is not the case. So she's like you know what, keep playing with me, little boy. Guess what If you don't make it right with Stephen? Basically she's picking Stephen over again Again. If you don't make it right with Stephen, I'm going to write your narrow behind out of my will. I'll do it just like that, try me. And Adam's just standing there like are you serious? You're not even going to listen to my side. She's like absolutely not. She picks up the phone, tells her lawyer hey, I want to see you tomorrow morning. I need to make a few adjustments. And Adam just stands there kind of slack, jawed and disbelief. It's like ain't this a bit? I came in here to help the kid. He's not listening. I'm ready for Adam to really pop off. This is about 15, 16 minutes into the show.

Speaker 1:

She already pissed off Blake. She's made it to alienate Adam and now her PI has come over to see her. Her PI is filling her in. He's basically actually comes with his hat in his hand and he's asking for a loan, a pre sizeable loan, because he's in a little bit of trouble. He's got a bit of a gambling problem and he's afraid that something bad is going to happen to him unless he can come up with the money. So he goes to her because she's been giving him all this work Now, rightfully so. She's like okay, listen, we had a business deal, I paid my bill. I'm not really trying to get messed up with whatever you're messed up in. Please don't come in here with that. I don't need that kind of drama around myself or my business. So absolutely not, I'm not going to help you out. Of course she doesn't say it as politely as she could. She insults the man I do. The goon is after my blood and she's like obviously he's going to be so if you don't get out of my office, I'm going to have someone throw you out. The dude makes a mistake of threatening her. He's like you're going to be so sorry. She's like listen, why don't you stop watching TV and quoting TV? Go get yourself a fresh new coat and get the hell out of my office.

Speaker 1:

In other news, crystal and cream, of course, was living in Lama Raj because she can't stay on living another day with the lake, the monster Carrington. She's minding her business eating her lunch when her other ex comes up and he's like hey, chris, how did we end up? How do two kids from Ohio end up with the psycho rich people, this crazy right? My thoughts were well, had you not abandoned her in Mexico, ran away for many years, she probably wouldn't have ended up there, but it would end up with you. But I mean sure it's a rich people's fault, of course.

Speaker 1:

He then propositions her, not in the way you think. He's like crystal, I'm getting out of this town. I can't take it anymore. Lexus has me so screwed up, why don't you leave with me? And she's like what? Why would I do that? It's the audacity for me. But she just she's like listen, she tells the audience by telling Mark that her divorce came through last week. She's free and clear, so technically she's married to nobody. She's not crystal Jennings, she certainly isn't crystal caring.

Speaker 1:

Then she's gonna go back to crystal Grant KG, the original. He's like okay, cool, fine, I see you have a score to settle. It's not what she said. That's not at all what she said. She's saying that she has her new independence. She has independence back. She has the opportunity to make a name for herself as herself, versus being the arm candy of a rich, wealthy man or the lonely, long-suffering wife of a Philandering Ho like Mark. He's like yeah, I respect that crystal, that's great. I got a score to settle myself with Alexis. I'm having hard time deciding what I really, really really think about Mark. Mark is not the greatest actor. He's not on the Lance level I Mean. He's got stuff to work with, but mostly it's just like beauty or whatever.

Speaker 1:

So Mark does end up going over to Alexis's office to confront her, not her office. He goes to her penthouse to confront her, tells her he demands that she get in the car with him. Right now. We're gonna march right on over to La Mirage. You're gonna tell Fallon that you tricked me and you jumped into my bed.

Speaker 1:

I really wanted her to say wait, which time? Because let the record show there was a sexual relationship. Buddy, baby, this didn't. This wasn't a come on it's. It's a totally different conversation if they never had a relationship, but they totally did. He doesn't, he don't want to talk about that. He's like no, no, no, no, no, no. Don't tell her about that time, tell her about the last time where you snuck in, sick or not. Why don't I Make a phone call to my security guards and have them kick you out? Thanks, I'll let myself out. But he also bows To do something to her. So, right off the bat, blake didn't really make about to do anything, do any harm to her. Adam didn't either, but the PI did. And then mark friend her. Adam, on the other hand, is too busy. He's back at the office mining his business.

Speaker 1:

Again, when Kirby comes waltzing into the office because she thinks Jeff is in the office Do they share an office? And I'm just missing something? Maybe that's the case, but he immediately Adam is. Adam can tell that she's glowing, she's happy, and she announces that she and Jeff are pregnant, thinking this will make him just kind of back off and leave her alone. But he's once again. He's got that stunned, slack jaw look on his face, just like he did when his mother Announced that she's gonna rip him out of the wheel until he gets his life together.

Speaker 1:

Well, kirby Kerb goes to the doctor and it's the moment We've all been waiting for. She's in there, just she and the doctor. He shows her the, the sonogram pictures and she's you know, she's in love like a new mom. He's, he or she is so beautiful, blah, blah, blah. Well, she's about to leave and the doctor's telling her how healthy she is and that, you know, make sure she tells her husband she's perfectly healthy, nothing's wrong with the baby. But she's like well, hey, I'm like my Morning sickness is gnarly like. I can barely get a bed. Do you think, since it came on so early, it'll be over early? The doctor's like it's not early. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm only a month pregnant. And the doctor's like no, you're three months pregnant. And and the look on her face? She's like, no, I'm definitely a month pregnant.

Speaker 1:

But then she remembers the whole rapey rape action from Adam. She's like holy shit, pregnant with Adam's seed, which making her sick to her stomach. That's why she can't keep anything down, so she does. She's slack jawed. Now she's in a daze and it replays the the scene. It was actually really rough. The more you look at it it's like dang. There's just no question about that. There was. I never questioned it. But she the fact that she was able to get over it Makes me wonder what happened in her past. I'm very disappointed, ladies and gentlemen, to announce that there was nothing. Nothing brought up about her life overseas. Nothing ever come about, you know. You remember when she showed up at Fallon's flapper party and one of the other guests had recognized her. It was because she had come from Paris. But they've said boo about that.

Speaker 1:

But here in a little bit her father's gonna go try to check Alexis. And is one of the best scenes. It's actually the best thing, in my opinion, of this episode. But in the meantime, in between time, she's floored, she tries to collect herself, she walks outside the door. Jeff can Immediately see that something's wrong and they do that soap opera thing where they just look at each other and just kind of gasp and swallow and they don't really say anything. So we'll have to wait till season four to see if she's going to tell him. Three months she is three miserable months. Terrible.

Speaker 1:

Alexis, who's gone to wearing more and more cream, decides she's chilling in her apartment. She decides she's gonna set up crystal. She's bored, picks up the phone and she calls over to la mirage. Instantly she gets a hold of crystal and she's like less than I need you to Meet me at Steven's cabin. Steven called me. He's on his way back from visiting Claudia. He wants to talk to you and I, crystal, is me. She likes Steven, so she's listening. It's the only reason she hadn't hung up the phone. But she's like well, what is he want?

Speaker 1:

Alexis has fit, worked up the story. She's like your tramp of anese is giving him some sort of grief. So he wants to discuss with us some sort of custody. Whether you like it or not, we're both related to this kid. So just meet me at the cabin so we can talk about it. Sammy Joe's causing trouble. You can talk to her. I'll talk to Steven. It is what it is. We have to put our differences aside. Meet me at the cabin in two hours.

Speaker 1:

So Chris was like fine, I'll do that, speaking of misery, congressman Pito is at Blake's office, schnockered, completely, blitzy, drunk out of his mind, and he's demanding help. I'm demanding help, blake. Why did you let me do this? Why did you let me walk into this situation? Why did you stop me from choking Alexis to death? Blake's like calm down, you put yourself in the situation. That's on you, but as far as Alexis, I couldn't let you kill her. Get your life together, go home, go sober, mind your business. So the congressman Vows to strangle her next time he sees her. It's on site, basically is what he says. So if we're keeping count, that is three people Looking to choke out and or destroy Alexis. All in this, she didn't even have lunch yet. This is a fantastic day for for misery. She's already set up a second or third appointment to go ruin Crystal's life too. It's gonna be a good day.

Speaker 1:

Meanwhile, once Congressman Pito leaves the office, lawyer Andrew shows up and Andrew has a paperwork Blake requested. Blake wants to gift Steven he basically wants to gift baby Danny the same amount of shares in Denver, carrington as baby Blake Kobe has, and he's gonna make Steven like the head of it, blah, blah, blah, and Andrew's like dude. You must really love and trust your son. Considering your rep, you know the way you treat him. Despite the way you treat him, you seem to really trust him. How do you know he's not gonna just sign these over to Alexis and she's gonna have your whole life anyway? Blake's like don't worry about it. I know my son, he's a good man and I'm hoping this will put me back in his good graces. Andrew's like cool, I mean, you do whatever you want to do. Dude, it's not my kid, it's your decision. I mean it's a solid move. But he's right, I don't think Steven would sign it over either. Actually, steven doesn't seem to be motivated by that sort of thing. He's not looking for revenge when it comes to Blake. He just wants to respect, and I think at this point they're just on each other's nerves so much it's never gonna work out.

Speaker 1:

So let's skip to the get-in. It seems that Blake is, you know, he's reeling from the fact that Crystal has moved out once again and he's run off his son once again. So he's like the least I can do, I can't call Crystal. I won't call Crystal, I'm gonna go talk to Steve-O. But he goes over to Steve-O's house and of course, the lawyer's there. The lawyer answers the door and he says that he's Steven's friend and Blake's like hmm, friend, huh, you look pretty at home here, friend. And the friend's like well, of course I am, I live here now. I moved in. Last night.

Speaker 1:

Blake loses his mind again, just like he did at the end of season one. It was like we can't keep running into these same storylines, people. He gets upset, he starts demanding that the kid move out and the guys, the lawyer the lawyer who understands the law is almost entertaining this. I would put Blake's old ass out quickly. I live here now. This is my house. You gotta go.

Speaker 1:

But before any damage can be done, steven comes home from his long day of visiting with Claudia over here as a conversation and tells his dad you're gonna get out now because if there's going to be a murder here today it's gonna be me murdering you. Oh, steven wants all the smoke with his father, all of it. And you know who else wants smoke Stiff corpse, major domo, joseph. So this is the battle of whales. This is the battle of the pettiest people on the entire show. Neither one of them like each other. There's no love lost between the two of them. So, joseph, you know he's stiff, he's showing no emotion. He sounds so much like Liam Neeson and taken it is startling. So picture that, or listen, think about that when I'm talking, when I'm telling you this, joseph, and oh, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, if this is your first time listening to us, welcome.

Speaker 1:

You picked an interesting episode to start with, but we'll allow it. This is the same place. Okay, we're all learning these shows, learning the rhythm of a vintage prime time soap opera. But I want you to know something I never make up anything. From time to time I will extract the essence of a scene versus giving you the verbatim dialogue. Sometimes I do it willy nilly, sometimes I do it in something called soap lol theater, which we're going to do today.

Speaker 1:

Joseph, being the major domo at the Carrington home, and Alexis, being the former wife of Blake Carrington, have assorted past. As I stated before, no love lost. On the last episode, there was a fist fight, aka a beat down in the pond, and Alexis lost a few pieces of her jewelry, Apparently offscreen. She had demanded that they drain the pool and look for the earring and Joseph told her to get all the way out of his face. He wished she would. So this scene picks up after that, and I'm basing that on what Joseph says. So they are in Alexis's penthouse. Enter Joseph.

Speaker 1:

Good evening, mrs Colby. I have retrieved the lost earring you lost in the incident at the pond last week, alexis. Hmm, how cute, how thoughtful, joseph. Yes, madam, and I'd like to apologize for my reluctance in draining the pool to find you a little earring. I know you needed that, that's cute, but we got it for you. Alexis, oh, is that so? Okay, it's like that, joseph. Well, I mean, yes, like you said, mrs Colby, I'm not in the same position of you. I've never been in the pool losing jewelry over a fight. You know I'm not of your status, so I can't possibly understand what this little cute piece of jewelry must mean to you.

Speaker 1:

Someone like you. So a woman like you, alexis, oh, okay, oh, that's cute, joseph, okay. So basically, you're saying you couldn't be me. You're not on my level, joseph. I am saying that I am. That is correct. I couldn't, I could never be you. That's right, alexis, oh, okay.

Speaker 1:

I thought maybe you were coming over here to make sure that I don't tell your baby girl about her mama. Tell her the truth about your wife, joseph. Oh, oh, okay, it's like that, alexis. I mean, if ever you have the audacity to speak to my baby about me, I would be forced to drop all and I do mean all of the information I have on you. Alexis, oh, is that a threat? Joseph, joseph, no, mama is indeed a promise. I don't make threats. I will stop anybody I do mean anybody who chooses or tries to hurt my child. Alexis, oh, really, what are you gonna do? Murder me? I can just see the headlines now.

Speaker 1:

The butler did it. Joseph Butler Baby. Gerard and Maceville are the butlers. I am the major domo. Oh, okay, I totally made up that last little word. He did not say that Gerard and Maceville are the butlers. I am the major domo, get it right. She's like oh, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember you still got that cute little scrapbook you keep with me, keeps you warm, and I want you to go play with your book.

Speaker 1:

Little boy, get out of my penthouse apartment. He struts out though Insane, insane. He struts out with a man of kind of mission. I believe people like that when someone is just stoic and they're not really showing emotions. One way or another he means what he says. I would love to see what is in his lovely little scrapbook. I vaguely remember it coming up once or twice, but who knows? So, okay, there was a moment when Adam do you remember when Adam was going on? I can't remember where he was going, but his doctors from Billings showed up and so Adam got all paranoid.

Speaker 1:

Well, the doctor is back in town for some sort of convention and Adam wants to have a little chit chat with him. So he does. He's like hey, are you here for me, are you here for this convention? The doctor confesses it's a little bit of both. I just want to make sure you're okay. I'm not going to tell anybody about your past. That is for your business to tell. But you got to do something sooner rather than later. So Adam is just so stressed he's already been kicked out of a wheel practically. He's like why don't you just leave? Get out, the guy's not going to leave. Well, fallon comes walking up right as Adam is standing up. Adam ends up leaving.

Speaker 1:

Fallon said, looks over to the doctor and basically says this kid's always mad at me. I just wish I knew how to talk to him. The doctor tells him no, don't worry about that. He's mad at everybody all the time because he's a passionate person, he fights for what he believes in. So like he's just intense, don't worry about it. And it's like well, you know, what do you want?

Speaker 1:

The doctor goes on to explain that one of Adam's first case as a lawyer was defending this guy who would attack his boss. He'd attacked his boss by choking him out. And immediately this brings back. This brings back flashbacks for Fallon, who you know she's fresh off choking from Jeff. The doctor goes on to explain that the guy had worked in some sort of chemical plant and he had been slowly breathing in these toxins and over time it made him delirious. Made him delirious. He was losing large chunks of his memory. He had no memory of choking out the guy. It was totally like you know it was. It was one of those things that was out of character.

Speaker 1:

Adam was able to prove and get the guy off because he was able to prove that he had been slowly poisoned by this gas. And she goes do you remember what it was called? And he tells her I refuse to rewind it, but he tells her what it is and she's putting the pieces together. The doctor leaves her with this little tidbit. He's like your brother is smart. Your brother is razor sharp. He is a brilliant, very, very, very intelligent person, and so she's like intelligent gas choking neurotoxin.

Speaker 1:

So she runs to the hospital and she forgets that she's a privileged woman. She finds a surgeon who's on his way to surgery. She's like hey, can I have a little moment with you? He's like no, I got to go do surgery, just a little bit. She starts feeding him this information, like hey, what's up with Jeff? Do you know? Is it possible that it could have been blah, blah, blah, do you know whatever? So she tells him that the drug or the chemical that made someone else go crazy, and he's like yeah, I guess. So that's a neurotoxin. It could be that. But you know I have to go cut someone open right now. We'll talk about this later. So let's get to the cabin.

Speaker 1:

Alexis is already at the cabin. When Crystal arrives, are both in khaki and this conversation seems very, very pointless to me. Alexis thinks that she can buy off crystal, just like she bought off Sammy. Joe, this woman has beat you down two times. What makes you think she's going to leave town? Once Crystal figures out that Steven isn't coming, she's ready to go, but unbeknownst to the both of them.

Speaker 1:

Someone in denim is outside the house, outside the cabin, dousing this sucker with all the gasoline they could find in the greater Denver area, every nook, every cranny. They are taking their time. They're soaking everything. They took the time to cut the pipes. No water, only gas in a match. So right about the time Crystal goes to leave, she realizes that the door won't open. Alexis thinks she's being dramatic, so she goes over. She tries to open the door. They look down. Sure enough, smoke is billowing from beneath the door frame. From the outside they realize oh my gosh, the cabin's on fire. Now, quickly. These very pit lists and the stunt doubles on this show are worth the price of admission. You got to start watching it for no other reason than watch the stunt doubles.

Speaker 1:

So Crystal's opening all these windows. She throws a chair out the window, but then there's a huge explosion and a rug falls on her. So she's trapped. For a second. Alexis is thrown backwards by either blast or some sort of some piece of debris falling from the roof. She's not unconscious. They're help help Alexis. This time.

Speaker 1:

The third. The house is burning to a flames. The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire. Listen, dynasty must have spent some of that budget that a wardrobe budget money on the pyrotechnics. They went and borrowed someone from Falcon Crest because it is an amazing fire scene. They clearly you can tell they're not in the same building. But that's how this season ends, with a fire totally engulfing the cabin that both Crystal and Alexis are trapped in and someone the arsonist is running around free.

Speaker 1:

Can't say that I'm disappointed. This was fairly mild considering what the season was about. So far, so good. I don't know how it's going to pair up with the rest of the show. So Actually we're going to go a little deeper than that for a finale. I think it was a little bit of a dud. Yeah, they had to use fires and you have to use pyrotechnics. They had to use something big like that a little bit of a cliffhanger. But they can't very well kill Steven's new friend or boyfriend, because we've already done that. We've got a pregnancy to expose. We get into that.

Speaker 1:

I'm very curious to know what Alexis has on Joseph. She doesn't seem to have any beef with Kirby. Kirby's not a tramp. Kirby's not infreending on anything, she's minding her own business. So she seems to be off of her radar. But I'm wondering who her mom is or what the big deal would be about that, and why hadn't it come up before? Kirby's like 21-22. She is stressed about this baby, though she's going to have to tell somebody about Adam. But you know, adam is slowly oh, I guess his roots are dug up because Fallon's not going to let that go. She's absolutely not going to let that go. All right, y'all, now we can end this. Join me next time as we review Dallas. In the meantime, in between time, take care of yourself. You do very well.
